Andy was commissioned by the Wall Street Journal to illustrate and animate a cover for their ‘The Future Of Everything’ magazine on the theme of AI weather prediction. The brief was to visually represent a weather system in the form of abstract data. With the animation requirement in mind Andy experimented with Cinema 4d simulations of cyclones and rainfall to help create the imagery. Andy combined these 3d and 2d techniques for the final print illustration and looping animation used on the WSJ website. A further editorial illustration was developed with an AI weather vane rooster concept.
